JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to join our team.

As a key member of the Operations team, you will coordinate and supervise the work of production team members to ensure compliance to safety, quality, and production requirements.

You will work with the Production Supervisor, Team Leads and Operations team members to meet customer requirements (quality & on time delivery) for all daily production requirements.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the various build cells so assemblies & products are produced at the highest quality standards, at maximum production efficiencies.
  • Communicates information relating to equipment, scheduling, inventory, quality, health and safety to appropriate staff and management as needed
  • Review and approve all ATS People transactions, including timesheets and vacation approvals.
  • Monitors performance of staff and identifies training and development needs.
  • With support of the Production Supervisor, formally review employee's development during performance reviews.
  • With the support of the Production Supervisor, deliver corrective actions as required
  • Accountable for the health and safety of employees under your supervision by; making sure that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures and providing adequate training for employees in specific work tasks to help reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries.
  • Read and provide direction on detailed work instructions related to the assemblies.
  • Effective troubleshooting and ability to communicate efficiently regarding problems that may arise during assembly and final testing.
  • Maintain and update daily visual management boards, KPIs, metrics and goals of production.
  • Coordinate work according to the skills and experience of team members assigned.
  • Communicate and be a channel of any constructive or objective ideas that arise; helping to keep the manufacturing standards uptodate and at the highest level.
  • Ensures checklists, work instructions and final acceptance test plans are followed and completed accurately.
  • Conducts transactions and activities in the ERP system.
  • Available to be a customer liaison, including travel as required.

Additional Information:

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Principles
  • 5S knowledge (training, implementation & sustainment)
  • Displays technical expertise & understanding (mechanical and electrical assembly aptitude)
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionality
  • Supervisory & leadership experience in a repetitive production environment utilizing build cells and onepiece flow
  • Ensure compliance to all procedures and policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous Lead role experience an asset

Education:

  • Preference given to a technician or technologist diploma in Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical skilled trade certification
