This position is 100% remote.


Working in collaboration with Academic Excellence and the relevant Schools and Departments, under the direction of the Learning Technologies Lead, you are responsible for investigating, testing, and recommending new educational technologies at NAIT.

Following best practices for educational technology integration, outcomes-based education, and other relevant policies and procedures, you will develop strategies and resources for utilizing new or existing technologies; collect and assess feedback; and conduct evaluations of current and emerging technologies to provide recommendations on institute-wide solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the integration of educational technologies for courses and programs using a blended, online or web enhanced format
  • Develop:
  • Training to support faculty with the successful integration of educational technologies in a variety of learning environments
  • Documentation, tutorials and other learning materials to support workshops, seminars, coaching and independent learning
  • Methods for evaluating training effectiveness
  • Research and communicate current and emerging uses of educational technologies
  • Review educational technologies in use to ensure effective usage and make recommendations
  • Consult with individual, or groups of, faculty or staff to provide appropriate technology solutions
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure resource materials, tutoring and support is available in the Educational Technology Community at NAIT
  • Collaborate with Information and Technology Services (ITS) and other NAIT stakeholders to provide support for the identification, rollout, and implementation of technologies that support the student learning experience
  • Participate on learning development project teams with a focus on the use of educational technologies to enhance the student experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Significant knowledge of educational technologies and their use in curriculum design and delivery, preferably in the postsecondary context
  • Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with faculty and work within group to explore, analyze, and communicate how to best use technology for instruction
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software
  • Project management and technical skills

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education, diploma or degree, in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with educational technologies OR equivalent combination of formal education and experience
  • Experience working in a postsecondary environment is an asset
  • Experience supporting instructors in the use of a Learning Management System

Remuneration:
$ $52.18 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays. (Classification - Process Analyst II).

  • This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
