Job Purpose
The Project Controls Coordinator role supports Construction Operations by providing scheduling, cost control, forecasting and reporting expertise as part of a collaborative site team.
Responsibilities:
- Display a commitment to Waiward's incidentfree vision, values, and culture;
- Develop and maintain project schedules;
- Proactively manage key milestones, changes to the critical path and resource loading of the project schedule(s);
- Develop detailed "whatif" schedules as requested by the project team to capture material delays, productivity impacts, etc.;
- Evaluate and reconcile actual manhours and costs vs. budgets;
- Analyze and prepare trends and cost forecasts and be able to provide supporting explanations and documentation to support variances;
- Assist Site Leadership in analyzing installed quantities and expenditures of hours to derive at earned values;
- Liaise with customer's project control representatives on regular basis regarding P&P reporting;
- Support the project team with general administrative and coordination duties as requested;
- Support the subcontract management process including incorporating subcontractor schedule activities, managing subcontractor cost expenditures and reviewing forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Education; Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in related field;
- 5 or more years experience in a scheduling role within the Construction industry;
- 2 or more years of responsibility for project/cost controls and reporting;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project etc.) and Oracle
- Primavera P6 scheduling software;
- Experience in Industrial Construction would be considered an asset;
- Working knowledge and understanding of planning, scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, change management, financials, and project accounting processes and systems;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Working Conditions
This position will be based at Mosaic K1 Mine near Esterhazy Saskatchewan. The incumbent will work in an office environment on site with little to moderate noise.
From time to time there will be a need to walk the site and structure to verify progress or better understand the scope of work.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such asL preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading.
