Operationally, responsible to the Naval Provost Marshall (Atlantic), Base Operations Officer and the Base Security Manager. Administratively responsible to Site Manager.
Responsible For:
Supervision, coaching, scheduling and administration of shift personnel.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday; hrs.
Wage:
$29.43 per hour

WHO WE'RE SEEKING
Eligibility Requirements
Key Activities:
- Conducting physical assessments of new infrastructure and upgrades to existing facilities and advise on security measures with stakeholders that ought to be put in place.
- Coordinating work with others, participate in security working groups, conduct briefings, and/or draft reports or components of presentations to BOps (Base Operations) staff and Site Manager on progression of security projects as required.
- Supervising the output of the physical security surveyors to ensure PSS timelines and requirements are being met accordingly.
- Conducting scheduled and/or adhoc security inspections of all site units and sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
While duties vary by assignment, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out site inspections and liaise with internal and external stakeholders including project management teams during project development phase on new infrastructure projects to ensure security protocol is being followed as per NDSODs (National Defence Security Orders and Directives)
- Monitor SRCLs (Security Requirement Checklists) to ensure they are being adhered at construction sites.
- Attend quarterly meetings that deal with the planning of F-Y (Fiscal Year) projects.
- Liaise with relevant bodies staff to advise on security upgrades to existing CFB (Canadian Forces Base) Halifax infrastructure.
- Conduct periodical security inspections of all client's sites as required ensuring each site is complying with security orders and managing any discrepancies. Take steps to rectified/mitigate noted discrepancies immediately.
- Liaise with DCC (Defence Construction Canada) in the development of SORs (Statement of Requirements) for security related projects, and assist in the prioritized of SORs for project construction for upcoming fiscalyear.
- Liaise with the RDSO (Regional Defence Security Officer) to ensure the requirements in NDSOD are being followed by each Unit as well as to ensure any security issues that arise are dealt with in a timely manner as required.
- Attend quarterly meetings with Base Operations to advise on the priority and urgency of security projects and to secure funding for high priority projects.
- Carry out taskings and other physical security duties in order of priority as determined by Base Ops, area Provost Marshall, and/or Site Managers.
- Prepare and forward physical security reports, briefs, letters and memorandums documenting findings for submission to Base Ops that include Base security initiatives.
- Submit monthly Occupational Health &Safety report to Site Managers by the 13th of each month; and
- Survey base fence lines in areas of responsibilities and determine how far fence lines will have to be erected or relocated to encompass all DND (Department of National Defence) /CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) property at the respective sites ensuring security at those properties is present.
