PURPOSE OF ROLE:


Campus Recreation is seeking passionate Fitness Instructors who aim to inspire, encourage and educate our members to become the best version of themselves.

Instructors must be knowledgeable and passionate fitness professionals with the ability to lead and educate individuals of all abilities.

Instructors are responsible for developing new and unique chorography, with a deep consideration for ensuring the health and safety of all.

Fitness Instructors will be a key contributor in cultivating a sense of community within the Rec Centre that is supportive of building a thriving and equitable campus.

This role will support the University's mission to build an equitable and thriving campus by fostering inclusivity and ensuring classes meet the holistic needs of the community.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading a range of challenging, yet safe and enjoyable fitness classes that are accessible to all individuals.
  • Provide clear communication and direction to clients to ensure effective workout methods, proper techniques and tailored modifications to exercises.
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment that supports and motivates clients to set personal goals, move their bodies and help make healthy choices.
  • Building new and creative lesson plans weekly that are appropriate for clients of all fitness levels, with a focus on challenging clients in a safe and fun way.
  • Designing lesson plans with dynamic chorography and acquire matching appropriate music.
