Male Community Support Worker

The CSWs are part of a team that ensures the individual has a high quality of life in areas including daily living, recreation and leisure, and community inclusion.
_We are currently looking for
MALE staff to work with a client with complex needs.
The program is located in Morinville
-
In your role you will:_
- Assisting with maintaining a good home environment for the personserved and staff
- Prepping food
- Researching activities
- Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with complex and challenging behaviours.
- Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals
- Evaluating the needs of clients
- Act as an advocate for individuals when needed
- Completion of daily documentation
- Provide support and assisting clients in the development of healthy life and social skills
- Participate in ongoing program development
Education:_
- College or University Diploma or Certification from field specific program. Relevant experience is valued and considered an asset and may be considered (competencybased hire)
Mandatory_ _
Training & Clearances to be provided before starting:_
- Criminal record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)
- Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
- Standard First Aid with CPR (min. Level C)

Preferred (primarily for day/evening staff):_
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Driver's Abstract (within the last 6 months)
- Auto Insurance & Registration
Other Training _(*Available from Family Connections Inc. AT NO COST to the employee)_
- Medical Administration (necessary before starting)
- Suicide Awareness or Suicide Intervention training
- Cultural Awareness training/Indigenous Training
- Restrictive Procedures
- Positive Behaviour Supports
- Deescalation
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
Required Experience:_
- We are looking for someone who is dedicated, patient, kind, trustworthy, mature, caring, and a good communicator and listener.
- Directly supporting individuals with disabilities, addictions, complex, and challenging behaviours
- Experience working in a residential and group home setting is an asset
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Salary:
$19.00-$22.00 per hour

We have a dedicated Crisis/Disaster Staff who monitors any and all updates, obtains and administers PPE for staff, we have strict Protocols in place to minimize exposure and contamination
