Job Summary

Job Description:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all aspects of NAV CANADA's Airspace Modernization Team and their duties.
  • Assess and balance competing requirements and priorities of various internal and external stakeholders within the regulatory framework.
  • Manage and communicate change proposals across NAV CANADA lines of business with particular focus on Service Delivery activities.
  • Liaise with Transport Canada, ICAO and other bodies on elements affecting the establishment of Service Delivery initiatives.
  • Manage the consultation and coordination with operational units on the building and implementation of local/national procedures in support of associated Service Delivery initiatives.
  • Manage national customer and stakeholder consultation and change notification.
  • Manage subordinate staff and other members of the Airspace Modernization Team through matrix management.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • At least six years of experience in air traffic service provision and management.
  • Experience in building a collaborative network and working relationships with senior officials, government departments and industry stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in managing staff.

Education:

  • Successful completion of an Air Traffic Control or Flight Service program recognized by NAV CANADA or Transport Canada.

Knowledge:

  • Indepth technical and operational knowledge of air traffic management procedures, techniques and equipment with particular focus on performancebased operations.
  • Indepth knowledge of Transport Canada regulations related to air traffic service provision.
  • Knowledge of project and program development and management techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques and practices involved in the development of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and business planning processes.
  • Knowledge of process management, facilitation, change management, performance measurement and risk analysis and management.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of information analysis and review in order to identify procedural requirements within a matrix organization.

Work location is Ottawa - Head Office. Remote work is required during the pandemic. Alternate work location may be considered under flexible work arrangements.
