Job Summary

Job Description:

In this role you will:

  • Assesses the need for changes to levels of service within all airspace over which NAV CANADA has designated authority.
  • Conducts national level of service change proposals across NAV CANADA lines of business with focus on Service Delivery activities.
  • Conducts aeronautical study activities to evaluate level of service at locations across the country.
  • Coordinates and participate as a member of the level of Service (LOS) team towards the successful completion of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conducts industry stakeholder consultations related to aeronautical studies.
  • Produces aeronautical study reports for Transport Canada.
  • Positively contributes to improving the engagement of Level of Service team.

What you bring:

Education:

  • Community College Diploma or Undergraduate degree in an aviation related field. In lieu of the diploma/degree a combination of experience and aviation professional rating (eg. ATC, FSS, ATPL, AME, CNS/ATM) may be acceptable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with operational air traffic service provision and/or aircraft operations.
  • Experience managing external industry stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, drafting reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Experience in project management would be considered an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Technical and operational knowledge of air traffic management procedures and NAV CANADA communications, navigation, and surveillance equipment/technologies.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian airspace structure.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations related to air traffic service provision.
  • Knowledge of process management, facilitation, change management, performance measurement and risk analysis and management.

  • Work location is Ottawa. Alternate work location may be considered under flexible work arrangements.
