MANAGER, FINANCIAL SERVICES:

The Real Estate and Development Branch is looking for a Manager, Financial Services for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as a RÉ-06 ($83,979 to $113,423 per annum; 2021 rate of pay under review).

JOB OVERVIEW

NCC is currently searching for a Manager, Financial Services with great leadership skills to join our Real Estate and Development team.

As a Manager, Financial Services, you will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations for the Real Estate Management Portfolio, and for coordinating the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

You will also plan and supervise the financial data input, expenditures, revenues verification and reconciliation, and you will review property accounting activities to ensure that desired results are achieved according to deadlines, GAAP, and client policies/requirements.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

EXPERIENCE
Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in the field of general accounting, including:

  • financial operations, internal controls, planning, and resource management;
- providing technical advice to clients on complex financial management and reporting issues;
- preparing and delivering financial presentations, reports or briefings used to provide strategic advice to management.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Of business administration processes and practices, including financial planning and budgeting.

ABILITIES

  • To analyze complex financial information, to evaluate issues, and recommend plans and solutions.
  • To review and prepare reports, interpret financial data, and conduct monthly reviews of compliance.

ASSETS

  • Experience with the supervision of human resources, including identifying resource requirements, setting objectives, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Knowledge of property management software and functions related to accounting and invoicing for the real estate industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work will be performed in a controlled office environment, with reasonable control over the pace and volume.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual CBC.
  • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
  • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work onsite at least two (2) days per week.
