How You'll Perform the Role

  • Cut and prepare material for general machinists and CNC operators with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Perform basic housekeeping, which includes keeping floors and workshop area clean, emptying garbage bins and maintaining inventory for general maintenance of the shop.
  • Move and handle tooling with the use of pallet trucks and lift trucks.
  • Perform basic shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Keep parts storage bins and racking stocked.
  • Drive light duty truck to deliver and pick up tooling and materials to Polarpak production departments and external vendors.
  • Regularly maintain and inspect lift trucks.
  • Diligently follow lockout/tagout procedures whenever required.
  • Understand, maintain, and follow the working procedures of the machine shop.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner and fully comply with the safety and quality (GMP) policies and procedures of the company.
  • Inspect steel rule dies and maintain inventory.
  • Assist sample maker as directed by machine shop supervisor.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the management.

What We Need From You

  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Must have valid driving license for light duty vehicle and forklift


Shipping
  • Receiving experience is preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in maintenance or machine shop environment.
  • Should have basic knowledge of tape measurement, fractions and math for doing simple calculations
  • Good English Communication Skill (verbal and written). Pass comprehension and math test
  • Prepared to use own vehicle if required for transporting the tools, parts and supply pick up occasionally
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Should possess own basic tools
