The YMCA of the National Capital Region (YNCR) is at the centre of the community, helping people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities live engaging, more rewarding lives. A registered charity dedicated to the health of individuals, families and communities, the YNCR is accessible to all, serving thousands of people in the region each year. With a diverse and multicultural staff of over 500 and annual operating budget in excess of $25 million, the YNCR's programs and services address significant social and health issues, tailored to local community needs. The YNCR helps build a healthier community, advocating for children, teens, and adults helping all to reach their potential and realize their goals.
The AVP Marketing Communications and Philanthropy, is a member of the Senior Management Team comprised of other AVP's, reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Services. The AVP Marketing Communications and Philanthropy is responsible for building and maintaining the strong brand and reputation of the YMCA of the National Capital Region and implementing strategies that attract and retain both YMCA staff and members. Overall, the AVP Marketing Communications and Philanthropy is focused on establishing a fun, safe, healthy, and community-focused culture that delivers high member satisfaction and achieves maximum financial performance. This position includes direct supervision of the communications, marketing and philanthropy staff.
The ideal candidate is an innovative leader with a proven track record of managing operational teams in dynamic marketing, communications and philanthropy programs. They will possess extensive experience in fast-paced environments, demonstrating exceptional communication skills, a talent for prioritizing and managing marketing projects effectively on a national scale and a clear strategy for donor relations and fundraising. An individual who is a strategic thinker who can thrive in a collaborative environment, driving impactful initiatives that further the YMCA's mission of empowering individuals and communities.
