What do you offer?


Reporting directly to the Director, Newcomer Information Centre (NIC), the Team Supervisor is responsible for the overall management, leadership and on-site operation of NIC in order to achieve all program goals in conjunction with the Director and Senior Director.

To meet the Y's mission, vision and values, the Team Supervisor will ensure excellent customer service, responsible fiscal resource management, program leadership and achievement of all strategic outcomes.


Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Leading the team to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitoring standards for reporting, operating procedures and qualify framework.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all client information.
  • Overseeing the provision of followup to clients.
  • In the absence of the Director, representing the Y in the community and liaising with funders.
  • Developing appropriate procedures to ensuring excellent client service.
  • Ensuring the accurate input of information into the database.
  • Providing pertinent statistics to the Director for the purposes of evaluations and reporting.
  • Overseeing the tracking of client satisfaction to ensure that service delivery benchmarks are being met, and providing input to the Director.

Education

  • Postsecondary education or equivalent in a related field

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Bilingualism is an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • Program coordination or related experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and high level of judgement
  • Ability to work with adult and youth clients with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, online research, data entry, and social media
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Superior problemsolving and creative skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • Annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
