***: Responsible for all customer and supplier aspects related to the business. Leads the development, planning, implementation, and improvement of solar construction projects through design, supply chain management and subcontractor coordination of solar sites. Using project management skills and methodologies, leads a team and cross-functional support groups to successfully implement products/projects on time, meeting cost, resource, design & engineering, supplier, and customer objectives. Tracks, documents/reports, identifies/investigates problems and continuous improvement related to existing products and processes. Responsible for the financial success of the business unit including business planning, strategy, pre-RFQ, quoting, negotiation, award and profitable launch. This role is also fundamental in building customer, supplier and subcontractor relationships to help attract new business.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary degree in engineering or business, or equivalent combination of education/related work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 yrs. experience in a technical related role required.
  • Knowledge and experience in construction project Coordination and/or leadership
  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, etc.).
  • Must be proficient in the use of windows environment (Microsoft office etc.)
  • Must have strong organizational, financial, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading/written English
  • Must have valid driver license in good standing.
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
  • Must be able to enter the United States legally.
  • Must be eligible for a TN working visa for the United States.
  • Must have valid passport.

DUTIES:

  • Must be capable of managing projects from inception to completion - timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, subcontractor coordination, budget, engineering changes.
  • Works with Engineers to ensure customer requirements are adhere to.
  • Manages subcontractors to meet timing and customer needs.
  • Lead as required cross functional team meetings.
  • Coordinate Customer requests for dwgs updates and/or design changes.
  • Coordinates with internal groups to ensure cost, delivery and quality targets are met according to customer requirements & Polar Racking Standards and schedules.
  • Travels to solar sites collaborating with the customer to answer concerns and feedback to engineering for improvement.
  • Responsible to ensure onsite training successful with customer regarding the correct installation of solar products.
  • Responsible for leading the local team as well as regional leads globally and providing guidance and good decisions.
  • Responsible for the project in establishing, planning and executing timing, resources, quality, budgets and manufacturing performance objectives to meet customer, people & investor targets.
  • Responsible for robust project quotations for costing and tooling, both prototype and production for approval.
  • Provides technical support for the continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes, including the recommendation and implementation of new technology and processes.
  • Ensures that any changes to Bills of Material, tooling, costing, pricing and/or processes are properly documented, communicated, and implemented effectively with the appropriate departments, personnel, customer & suppliers.
  • Leads the business unit team and responsible for holding team accountable to deadlines and tasks.
  • Responsible for team member training, development, and goal setting.
  • Keeps up to date on customer requirements and communicates to the team.
  • Able to attract new business and support bringing in additional sales.
