WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE/FORKLIFT OPERATOR

shop, organized and presentable. These duties include summer and winter maintenance of the yard, leaf blowing, plowing, shoveling, and general upkeep.

Excellent forklift driving skills will be needed, as this role loads and unloads, trucks, trailers, and tractor-trailers, daily with challenging loads.

Accurate data entry

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift 50/60 pounds regularly
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • The ability to work in extreme weather, winter coat provided for onsite work. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly

Responsibilities:

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or service areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using forklifts, tractors, or other equipment within the yard
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needed
  • Sort cargo before loading and unloading
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected
  • Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Pack containers and repack damaged containers
  • Stack cargo in locations such as dome and yard, using pallets or cargo boards
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
  • Adjust or replace equipment parts, such as rollers, belts, plugs, or caps, using hand tools
  • Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use
  • Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads
  • Adjust controls to guide, position, or move equipment, such as forks
  • Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging
  • Rig or dismantle props or equipment, such as frames, platforms using equipment and hand tools
  • Occasional delivery of equipment to customers and picking up of payment if necessary
  • Source local shop supplies and parts for Technicians as required
  • Carry out general yard duties as noted on the warehouse extra duty lists, such as picking up debris and filling salt bins or other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Forklift Operator Certification and experience
  • Experience driving agricultural equipment of various sizes (an asset) or the willingness to learn. Onsite, training is provided
  • High school diploma
  • Valid and in good standing driver's license
  • WHMIS, JHSC, AODA, training (an asset), or the willingness to participate in training initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Kubota lineup of products (an asset)
  • Proper tiedown methodology, using both straps and chains (an asset)

Compensation:
The compensation package for this position will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience. After a three-month probationary period, employees will have access to a comprehensive benefits plan that includes life insurance. All necessary Personal Protective Equipment will be provided including a high visibility winter coat for on-site work (excluding steel-toed safety boots)

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 7:30-5:00 pm at our 45 Slack Road Location. Onsite parking is available.
