  • Strong written and oral communication skills

SCM Project Business Partners are accountable for ensuring the procurement of goods, materials, construction contracts, and ancillary services are planned and delivered at a competitive cost, within agreed timelines, and in accordance with project priorities.

SCM Business Partners are the primary point of contact for the business.
Project Teams are to contact their SCM Business Partner when:

  • They have any questions related to general SCM support
  • They require SCM support with setting up a new project (e.g. input to PMP)
  • They want to develop an SCM supply plan and contracting plan for a project
  • They want to modify the content of an approved SCM supply plan or contracting plan
  • They have concerns regarding SCM performance on any deliverables that are part of an approved SCM supply plan (i.e. deviation in scope, cost, schedule, or quality)

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for the business (project/program/development teams)
  • Represent SCM at project team meetings
  • Engage SCM functional staff (Category Management, Project Buyers, Contract Specialists/Administrators, Logistics, Expediting) to assist in the development of key deliverables including but not limited to the Project Management Plan (which includes the procurement plan, logistics plan, etc.) and the SCM supply plan and contracting plan
  • Develop the SCM component of the Project Management Plan (PMP)
  • Develop the SCM supply plan and contracting plan ? Monitor actual performance against the SCM supply plan and contracting plan and address issues / concerns
  • Facilitate approval of Contract Development Plans (CDP) & Contract Award Recommendations (CAR)
  • Provide input into SCM progress reports? Support value creation activities
  • Coordinate stage gate reviews
  • Facilitate SCM participation in the project lessons learned sessions
  • Responsible for ensuring timely execution of services and delivery of materials and documentation.
Scope/Dimensions

The SCM Business Partner - Specialist works under the guidance and direction of the SCM Manager. The role would typically oversee projects that range up to $100+MM per annum.
