The Opportunity:

The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

utilization of OBTV and Meditech data entry on all patients, including admission, transfer and discharge; ordering of lab specimens; ordering and maintaining supplies; transport functions; answering phones; assembling discharge and assessment charts.


Hours of Work:

12 Hour Shifts, rotating shifts of 07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00; Mon-Fri and Weekends.

Your Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
  • Knowledge of Meditech preferred
  • Experience using OBTV preferred
  • Data entry skills required
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of interprofessional team members required
  • High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and selfdiscipline/focus
  • Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of coworkers
  • Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills required
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset
