Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Grade 7 and 8 Language
The successful candidate to the Summer Writing Contract will work collaboratively with the Grade 7 and 8 Language team to ensure the tools below are created with a focus on culturally responsive and anti-oppressive pedagogies, specifically:
digital Scope and Sequence document with corresponding resources to support expectation clusters.
digital "The First 20 Days of Grades 7 and 8 Language: Co-creating a Positive, Inclusive and Collaborative Learning Environment & Establishing your Thinking Classroom".
This would include a tool to collect learner profile data.Candidates will have system -level expertise related to the development and facilitation of effective professional learning related to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications to teach in two divisions (intermediate/senior preferred)Successful applicants for the DEI writing team w ill have:
familiarity with the recently released Grade 7 and 8 Language curriculum;
experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement;
Ontario Schools – Policy and Program Requirements (K-12);
School Effectiveness Framework – A support for school improvement and student success (K-12);
Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career/Life Planning Program for

work collaboratively with the Grades 7 and 8 Language writing team to create culturally responsive, anti-oppressive resources to support Grades 7 and 8 educators with the implementation of the recent Grades 7 and 8 Language curriculum.
