The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) is dedicated to reducing the harms of alcohol and other drugs on society by collaborating with various organizations to enhance the health and safety of Canadians.

CCSA acknowledges the importance of Traditional Indigenous Knowledge held by First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, respecting and integrating this valuable knowledge into their work.

The Innovation and Evidence in Practice team aims to make a meaningful impact by:
  • Developing and sharing innovative evidence-based research approaches
  • Converting evidence and experiences into training materials that enhance knowledge and support among different audiences

As the Research and Innovation Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting research, creating knowledge mobilization products, collaborating with partners, contributing to proposal writing, and assisting in resource development for training purposes under the guidance of the Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, lead, and execute research and knowledge mobilization projects
  • Interpret and summarize research findings for knowledge mobilization
  • Contribute to research proposals and grants
  • Present research findings at various events
  • Support project management activities
  • Engage with partners and stakeholders
  • Track project deliverables and progress
  • Develop educational materials for diverse audiences

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in relevant fields
  • Minimum of two years of similar work experience
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Understanding of knowledge mobilization and partner engagement
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Assets:
  • Experience with governmental or non-governmental organizations
  • Grant proposal preparation experience
  • Knowledge of diversity and equity practices
  • Bilingual in English and French
