Old Toronto, Ontario, Canada Ikea Full time

Job ID: Date posted: 07/06

Who you are:

As a leader, you unleash entrepreneurship, create customer value, lead with our IKEA Values, build strong relationships, and collaborate/co-create with others. You are an enthusiastic, motivated, communicative, and active team-mate on your unit's People & Culture (P&C) team and in your unit generally. You are disciplined, prioritize effectively, and have a great deal of initiative. You lead with heart and can provide direction and stability for our Co-workers. You know what it's like to work in a matrix organization that requires you to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders from various functions and units. You know how to engage with them, collaborate with them, and move the business forward as a result. You can be depended upon to act with a high level of professional and moral integrity, especially when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues. You have a minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience. You would benefit from past operational experience in the retail industry or a similar high-volume customer-focused environment.

A day in your life with us:

  1. Focus on providing an excellent co-worker experience in your unit including championing internal career growth and our many and varied development opportunities.
  2. Build strong relationships with your co-workers throughout your unit.
  3. Support your P&C Manager by implementing all operational P&C tasks in your unit.
  4. Ensuring that training initiatives are delivered and planned in partnership with your Market Learning & Competence Specialist.
  5. Implement Health, Wellbeing, and Work-Life Balance initiatives.
  6. Support Safety compliance, improvements, and programs.
  7. Support the local implementation of IKEA's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy.
  8. Maintain the quality and consistency of co-worker communication.
  9. Implement the unit's Co-worker Relations plan in support of your P&C Manager and in collaboration with your Area Co-worker Relations Specialist.
  10. Support the IKEA Recruitment Approach in your unit; especially the coordination of onboarding activities for new co-workers in collaboration with the Hiring Managers and People Planning Specialist.

Our team within IKEA:

IKEA is all about people, and our team make sure to bring the best people on board to keep our strong spirit of togetherness. We believe that different experiences and backgrounds collectively make us wiser and stronger, and we ensure that our co-workers bloom into their best selves as they contribute to our business.

WHY YOU WILL LOVE US:

Here at IKEA, we want to ensure that we are creating a better everyday life for the many people, including our co-workers. We also believe that a job should be so much more than a job. That's why we focus on having an inclusive work environment where we celebrate your uniqueness, live our values, and ensure that we walk the talk when it comes to co-worker development. In addition, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to all co-workers including:

  1. Wellness days (in addition to your vacation days)
  2. Extended health, dental, and vision coverage (for you and your family)
  3. RRSP with IKEA contribution matching options
  4. Eligibility for our annual IKEA bonus incentive plan
  5. Flexible spending account
  6. Life insurance
  7. Merchandise and restaurant discounts (plus free drinks and different healthy meal options in the co-worker restaurant, where available)
  8. Parental leave
  9. Bereavement leave
  10. Employee assistance program (that helps you support your mental, physical, and financial wellbeing)

The starting rate/salary for this position ranges from $ to $ and will be based on relevant work experience.

P.S. In the IKEA world, this position is officially referred to as Unit People & Culture Generalist
