Work Description:

The Grid Response Manager is in charge of planning and leading activities for resolving customer, system safety, and operational issues in a 24/7 setting. This role involves collaborating with internal and external partners to supervise work execution safely, comply with regulations, manage shift operations, and drive process improvements.

Operating on a rotating shift, the Manager provides on-site supervision, guidance, and mentorship to staff, ensuring the efficient distribution of power.

The incumbent is expected to abide by ethical standards, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to support day-to-day operations safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage planning, operations, and resource allocation in a 24/7 environment, resolving safety events.
  • Address field contraventions, work with stakeholders to resolve issues, and ensure safety.
  • Monitor contractor activity, ensure standards are met, and manage billing and payments.
  • Oversee safety and operations meetings, deliver safety content, and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure contractor staff meet training requirements and maintain safety performance.
  • Manage safety performance, participate in safety activities, and drive efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

  • University Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Power Line Technician preferred) or equivalent.
  • 5 years' experience in the electrical utility industry.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in the electrical field.
  • Valid Class DZ (AZ preferred) Driver's license.
  • Customer-focused approach and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical systems up to 36 kV.
  • Experience in emergency management and contractor administration.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, work practices, and MS Office.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
