Reporting to the Controller (Finance Function), Payroll Manager is accountable for managing the seamless end to end service delivery of people related transactional and administrative services in the areas of
Payroll.

This includes providing leadership for the payroll function, pension and benefits administration, payroll accounting and compliance with taxation laws, HRIS/Payroll systems maintenance and optimization, internal and external reporting.


What You Will Do?

  • Supervise Masco Canada payroll function; manage payroll changes and updates, keep up with ongoing government requirements, processing the salaried payrolls
  • Review and approve biweekly payroll reports and transactions
  • Review of online remittances, source deductions, pensions, RRSP, etc.
  • Oversee pension payments for Defined Contribution plan. Yearend reconciliation for T4s, EHT and WSIB filing
  • Participation in union contract negotiations, providing calculations and costs for various scenarios presented
  • Review and maintain Masco Canada internal control documents relating to payroll
  • Review final payroll registers, earnings, deductions, and GL distribution reports
  • Liaise with payroll provider on earnings and deductions code updates and/or issues
  • Respond to requests from managers/supervisors for labour charge information

What You Will Bring.

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible human resources and/or payroll experience with 2+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • Certified Payroll Management Certification (CPM), Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (CPA), or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a unionized workforce
  • Possesses a high level of accountability and proven capability to find opportunities, take initiative and think through future implications
  • Excellent collaboration, networking and relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to coach, motivate and build strong teams
  • Creative, analytical, detailoriented with solid project management skills
  • Flexible and selfdirected with the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels in organization and proficient presentation, reporting and communication content development through Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
