Purpose:


Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the scope of this position involves hands-on coordinating and managing the operations and employees of the warehouse, ensuring that operational activities are executed on time, following HACCP and Health/Safety regulations.

The position will also be required to work on project work and in an analytical capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of warehouse staff, coordinate and prioritize workflow, provide training, and disciplinary procedures
  • Performance evaluation on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis
  • Work closely with Production, Planning, and Transportation teams to ensure site has inventory for production needs as well as capacity planning
  • Deliver results on the warehouse floor through accountability and coaching shipper receivers
  • Responsible to roll out and maintain distribution processes, policies, and procedures
  • Responsible as a super user of the warehouse management system
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve processes and productivity to ensure warehouse runs in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Accountable for all warehouse machinery and equipment being maintained in proper working order
  • Ensure warehouse facility is kept clean, all stock is maintained in an appropriate manner, good stock rotation practices are in place, and product is kept clean and damage free to ensure quality integrity
  • Completion and documentation of MSS and HACCP related items
  • Run warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and HACCP regulations
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of hours based on business needs and perform other duties as required
  • Analysis, development, maintenance, and creation of new or existing KPIs.
  • Maintain and analyze existing KPIs as well as recommend or implement new KPIs.
  • Coordinate the flow of inventory to appropriate sites
  • Understand and operate within the collective bargaining agreement

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education and/or minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in a lead hand or supervisory capacity.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and ability to create tools by using: Excel (including the use of power query), working with Sharepoint lists and sites, experience with the use of Microsoft PowerApps and PowerBi.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, including excellent sanitary habits and knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) considered a strong asset.
  • Must have experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Solid experience of an automated Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to work well with and through others.
  • Familiar with total quality management and continuous improvement processes.
  • Good decisionmaking & problemsolving capabilities.
  • Computer skills experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job
