Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada Reconciliation Saskatoon Full time

NOW HIRING:
Program Manager

BACKGROUND

Reconciliation Saskatoon is a collective of 115 organizations, businesses, non-profits and more who develop initiatives, events and programming to engage more people in the journey of Truth and Reconciliation.

We work to bring people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, socioeconomic positions, abilities, ages and sexualities togetherknowing that relationship building happens when we work collaboratively towards the same goal.

At the heart of reconciliation is relationship building.

We continually invest in training, consultations with Knowledge Keepers, education and evaluation to ensure our work is inclusive, fosters a sense of belonging, and is moving forward in a good way.

We use a collective impact model for making change and consensus decision-making, striving for all our work to be led by the community.

We engage our members and the public at large in responding to the TRC's Calls to Action, to the MMIW2S Calls for Justices, and UNDRIP.

We work towards a shared Vision for Reconciliation—which was developed over years of community consultations.

This Vision includes a shared understanding of our history; the maintenance/celebration of strong cultures and worldviews; systems that benefit us all; and authentic and meaningful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

Reconciliation Saskatoon currently has a Learning Committee, Business Engagement Group, Healing Circle, Newcomer Action Group and Book Club.

In addition, we form committees to oversee large-scale events such as the Walk for Reconciliation and National Indigenous Peoples' Day.

We also built and support an online tool and app called ConnectR, which helps people find and respond to calls to action.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
