Reporting to the Director, Stamp Services, the Manager, Stamp Delivery and Marketing manages the distribution and marketing of Canada Post's suite of stamp products and services.

The Manager plays a critical role in bringing to market Canada Post stamp products that champion the stories of the people, places and events that help shape the country's continually evolving national narrative.

Ensures the efficient distribution of stamps to consumers and develops strategies to increase interest and drive sales.

Establishes and executes effective end-to-end distribution plans by forecasting demand, configuring product lines, managing inventory and leveraging Canada Post's robust delivery network.

Collaborates with in-house teams to create integrated marketing plans that promote stamp products (e.g., commemorative stamps, custom postage, collector items, etc).

Fosters and maintains strong relationships with community partners, including heritage, cultural and educational organizations. The Manager maintains strict financial accountability of this multi-million-dollar line of business.

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Stamp Delivery and Marketing.

  • Creates strategic distribution plans based on volume and sales forecasting to deliver stamp products efficiently and effectively to Canadians and collectors through Canada Post's channels (i.e., retail post offices, Canada Post e-store, external vendors and the International Dealer Network).
  • Actively monitors and evaluates distribution and marketing plan results. Creates strategies that drive continuous growth of Canada Post's stamp sales and consumer interest.
  • Liaises with internal and outside experts to fully understand the value proposition of stamp and stamp-related products to inform strategic decision-making for distribution and marketing plans. Products include commemorative stamps, the annual Collection Canada hardcover coffee table book, the annual OFDC collection, quarterly collector packs, framed prints and various stamp collecting accessories.
  • Leverages product knowledge, retail expertise and data and analytics to create an optimal product configuration plan to ensure products brought to market are in sync with consumer demand across channels.
  • Collaborates with in-house marketing teams to create integrated marketing strategies that will drive awareness, interest and sales of various stamps and stamp-related products.

Job Responsibilities (continued):

  • Supports the execution of marketing strategies, including ads, sponsored content, social and traditional media, various marketing collateral, and more. This includes overseeing the creation of Details magazine, a Canada Post publication dedicated to current stamps, collectibles, and philatelic news.
  • Initiates community and stakeholder engagement. Works with cultural, community and heritage organizations for cross-promotional collaborations. Maintains strong relationships with the philatelic and collector community. Communicates with other postal authorities globally. Provides support to stamp launches and community events across Canada, as needed.
  • Manages project outreach materials, including the creation of all video content for stamp launches, working closely with staff writers and videographers, as well as external stakeholders to create content for use at events and online.
  • Works closely with internal teams to maintain strict financial accountability for the distribution of multi-million-dollar line of business.
  • Identifies future trends, policy changes and industry regulations that could impact the sale and distribution of stamp products and services.
  • Creates a positive work environment and culture within the department, provides clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports. Conducts training and development needs assessments and ensures that direct reports are provided with the support necessary to deliver the expectations of their roles.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Completed postsecondary, preferably in a related field such as Marketing or Communications OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience
  • 2 or more years' experience managing people
  • One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs
