  • Ability to work cohesively in a team setting or on an individual bias
  • At least one (1) year serving experience
  • Must be Smart Serve certified
  • Organizational skills for scheduling and booking reservations and tables
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of food & beverage health and safety initiatives
  • Must be available for shift work, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • A desire to have fun at work, while working with a sense of urgency, purpose, and pride

Some of your responsibilities will include:

As a Food & Beverage Server at the Deerfield Pub, you will report directly to the Pub Manager and work in close collaboration with colleagues to deliver exceptional service, provide suggestions while injecting a fresh and fun perspective into everything you do.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to communicate accurately, efficiently and effectively to deliver exactly what the guest wants.

As a Food & Beverage Server you are proud to represent the Deerfield pub brand, and proactively act as an ambassador and role model of exceptional service.


  • Greet guests in a timely and professional manner, by presenting menus, offering cocktails and appetizers, explaining the specials and answering questions regarding Deerfield Pub and Glen Arbour.
  • Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, identifying special dietary needs and special requests.
  • Make pairing recommendations to complete guests' meals.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering guests choices from bar and kitchen.
  • Respond to additional guest requests by inquiring and being attentive to the guests' needs.
  • Maintain table settings by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses and being alert to guest spills or other special requests, as needed.
  • Issue bill(s), accept payment, return change or credit card and signature slip to guests.
  • Contribute to team effort to ensure each guest receives their desired meal quickly and reasonably.
  • Performs daily open and closing checklists, including weekly cleaning duties, as required.
