$16.55 per hour, 35 hours per week

By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, developing and delivering educational programs, conducting research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and advocating for effective wildlife policy and regulation, CWF strives for a future in which Canada's wildlife is conserved for generations to come.
Position SummaryResponsibilities:
Research and write educational activities on pollinators and gardening for CWF's elementary school garden program - WILD Spaces
Manage the WILD Spaces on-line classroom, upload educational resources, and encourage interaction
Assist with outreach and communications to organizations and groups that may have an interest in our gardening program
Research and write content for CWF's intergenerational gardening program (blogs, educational activities, info graphics, toolkit)
Assist with the design and execution of a national outreach plan to raise awareness about CWF's intergenerational gardening program
Support program delivery and administration
Represent CWF at suitable events
Qualifications:
Secondary or post-secondary education
Field of Studies preferred:
creative arts, education, natural sciences, environmental sciences or related
Bilingual in English and French preferred
Other skills:
Storytelling, editing and video creation
Knowledge of social media marketing
Creative and enjoy the outdoors
Knowledge on how to garden for wildlife
Eligibility:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
**International students are not eligible participants.Offer of employment is conditional upon the Canadian Wildlife Federation receiving funding for the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Work Conditions:
Full-time at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday for an 8-week term. Pending funding decisions.
Wage:
$16.55 per hour

Location:
CWF's Head Office in Ottawa, ON. Work-from-home flexibility is granted two consecutive days per week.
Extended periods of sitting.
Working in an office environment which may be noisy at times.
Length of Contract
The anticipated start date for this summer position is 2 July 2024 for a period of 8 weeks.
This position is contingent on receiving funding from the Canada Summer Jobs program.
