Qualifications- Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
The custodian will work in various conditions, including:
- All weather conditions.
- School or educational institution settings.
The custodian will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors, hallways, and stairs.
- Emptying trash cans and waste containers.
- Washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
- Making minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
- Caring for plants, lawns, and gardens.
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and fixtures.
- Working independently with minimal supervision.
- Completion of a criminal record check.
- Child Abuse Registry check.
