Who we are: Yukon Energy is the primary generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the Yukon territory, operating within the Traditional Territories of Yukon First Nations. We take pride in our commitment to sustainability and collaboration with Indigenous communities across all our operations.
What will you do:
Team Leadership and Supervision : Lead and supervise the Systems Control Operators team, ensuring effective performance and teamwork.
Training and Technical Support : Provide comprehensive training, technical advice, and direction to team members on operating the utility's system control center.
Budget Development : Assist in creating and managing budgets for the department.
Policy Compliance : Ensure all work is carried out and properly documented in accordance with Yukon Energy's policies, guidelines, and procedures.
What you need to succeed:
Journey industrial electrical certification, Powerline Technician, or power system electrical certification with extensive experience in power system control environment. Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skills. Proven oral, interpersonal and communications skills. Good organization and administrative skills. A proven track record and commitment to safe procedures and encouraging a safe work environment. Certification in WHIMS, TDG and rigging and hoisting. Computer skills to operate Windows software applications. SCADA programming would be an asset. Strong client service orientation with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. A valid class 5 driver's license. A valid First Aid certificate. Ability to work in a team and cross-cultural environment.Compensation : Level 10: $52.55/hr-$62.76/hr PLUS Northern Allowance.
