JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:

Reporting to the Capital Planning, Reporting and Forecasting Manager, this position supports the

  • BC Hydro enterprise capital reporting and analysis and provides strategic business advice to the
- key capital reporting enhancement initiatives. This role will lead a team of Finance staff.

  • The key accountabilities for this role include:
  • Lead and maintain the BC Hydro wide capital-related reports and data, which are the basis for
monthly, quarterly and annual BC Hydro capital reports to the Executive Team, the Board of

  • Directors and external capital reporting. These capital reports are also used on a monthly basis by
- various Business Groups and Finance teams.
  • Maintain capitalrelated information availability through other reporting tools such as Tableau/
PowerBI. Regularly assess the financial reporting requirements and processes, and create design
- and modifications to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the capital reporting.
  • Prepare BC Hydro wide capitalrelated analysis on key capital reports and complex project
issues; provide strategic advice on capital-related results to support the effective management of

  • BC Hydro's capital plan.
  • Provide strategic business advice and support to the key capital reporting enhancement
initiatives. Initiate and work with the Controller's team and other capital delivery teams on the
- development and review of new capital reports. Present the recommendations and solutions to the

  • Finance senior management team.
  • Lead and prepare adhoc capitalrelated reports throughout the year based on requests from the
Executive Team or Senior Management.- Support the capital-related sections of the Revenue Requirement Applications (RRA) and related

financial tables, financial schedules and financial models.- Support the annual capital planning process and Investment Management structure setup in

SAP.- Monitor and maintain the integrity of project attributes to ensure that the capital-related reports
- are reliable on both a portfolio and individual project reporting basis.
  • Finance representative on the PPM Tools Committee, ensuring PPM tools are developed to
support and/or enhance capital project reporting; Provide support to PPM, including reviewing and
- participating in user acceptance testing of PPM reports.
  • Support the ongoing development of a "teamoriented" culture within Finance and across BC
Hydro and promote inclusiveness and teamwork

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 9 years' experience in progressively more responsible finance and accounting
roles with experience in reporting and analysis.- Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA. We may also consider


those with an equivalent combination of education, training and business experience.- Ability to think and act with a strong business sense in a large/complex organization.


  • Ability to understand the broader complexity of issues and provide input and recommendations
to senior management in order to make effective decisions.- Proven ability to drive efficiency, look for and execute ways to continuously improve processes in

the team, and elevate opportunities that span across various business units.reporting and control, and capital plans- Strong technical knowledge of SAP & AFO or similar data structures and data flow; Advanced

Microsoft Excel skills, including PowerQuery and PowerPivot are required. Tableau and/or

  • PowerBI Reporting experience (or another similar reporting tool) would be an asset.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills and proven ability to
deliver core work on job description.- Excellent relations management, team building, conflict management, interpersonal and

communication skills. Supervising/Managing staff experience would be an asset.- This role requires teamwork and collaboration. Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently

with various groups across BC Hydro to resolve issues
