An exciting opportunity awaits to become a part of the City of Kamloops' Building and Engineering team as a Permanent, Full-Time Plumbing Official I or II. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding public health, overseeing construction compliance, providing technical advice to various partners, addressing public inquiries, identifying issues, suggesting improvements, preparing reports, conducting general office tasks, and supporting fellow inspectors.

Qualifications:For Plumbing Official II: ($44.36)
  • Valid BC Trades Qualification in Plumbing.
  • Successful completion of the Plumbing Officials' Association of BC Level II examination.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a municipal or provincial setting related to enforcement.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
For Plumbing Official I: ($38.68)
  • Valid BC Trades Qualification in Plumbing.
  • Successful completion of the Plumbing Officials' Association of BC Level I examination.
  • Minimum three months of experience in a municipal or provincial setting related to enforcement.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Selected candidates for positions involving trust or working with vulnerable individuals will undergo a police information check before a formal offer is extended. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies this role. This position belongs to CUPE Local 900 and will remain open until filled, potentially closing after June 04, 2024, upon identifying a suitable candidate.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM throughout the year.

Hourly Rate: $38.68 or $44.36
