Business Analyst Position at GFL Environmental

As a Business Analyst at GFL Environmental, you will be the bridge between Finance, IT, and Operations to enhance decision-making and streamline processes. Your role involves leveraging data to identify areas for enhancement and driving positive changes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer business inquiries using data analytics tools and sources available
  • Document and analyze business processes
  • Plan and implement improvements in processes translating into system upgrades

Requirements:

  • Create prototype reports for initial business review and support in finalizing permanent reports
  • Establish and execute data quality controls
  • Define and implement business process controls and KPIs
  • Identify long-term business needs for data collection and process management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in process mapping and SQL
  • Understanding of statistics, data aggregation, and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work well in teams, and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience in VBA coding and Cognos reporting is advantageous
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma is a plus
