Position Summary


The Production Team Leader is accountable for all aspects of Production and Packaging across the bakery, providing direction and leadership to Production Team Members.

The Production Team Leader must balance and deliver requirements for Safety, Quality, Standard Throughput Rate and Continuous Improvement. This position directly reports to the Production Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Safety, Health and Environment

  • Drive a culture of zero tolerance with Safety
  • LOTO and other life saving procedures;
Develop and maintain a training plan for all employees and ensure it is advancing. Ensure required training is completed and documented into training records.

Quality / Food Safety

  • Work with Sanitation and Quality to ensure the right resources and procedures are in place to meet GMP and HACCP requirements.
  • Audit and ensure online quality check completion.
  • Partner with Quality to identify key product hold drivers and identify solutions to reduce it.

Production / Delivery

  • Ensure the required equipment, materials, supplies and manpower are available.
  • Provide leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet or exceed targets.
  • Investigate and problem solve causes of waste and downtime.

Productivity

  • Conduct detailed root cause investigations for large deviations from target.
  • Lead operational improvement deliverables within production and packaging.
  • Provide assistance in troubleshooting of unplanned breakdowns.

People / Morale

  • Establish and sustain a positive and cooperative employee environment through effective communications across work teams/shifts and other functional areas.
  • Ensure consistency across shift teams in effective, timely and fair performance and disciplinary feedback and documentation.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience in a food production facility;
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, HACCP and Food GMPs (in a bakery environment preferred).

  • Technical ability to operate Bakery production and packaging equipment.
  • Analytical ability preferred.
  • Conduct work with integrity, abiding and upholding the Code of Conduct and Company Core Values.
  • Ability to anticipate what needs to be done & commits to take ownership to ensure it gets done.
