Job Overview:

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, Azelis Canada, this role focuses on maintaining quality and regulatory standards to support operations. Responsibilities include compliance with ISO, RD, TDG, GMP, WHIMIS / EC GHS, and ISO procedures. Acting as a liaison between departments, customers, and suppliers to meet specific requirements, ensuring the quality system functions correctly to meet standards and preserve certifications.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure overall system compliance to maintain certifications and provide quality services.
  • Conduct internal and external audits as per procedures.
  • Address non-compliance and customer/supplier complaints, ensuring proper resolutions.
  • Propose corrective/preventive actions based on audit findings or complaints.
  • Update internal and external procedures to support standards.
  • Communicate changes in procedures internally and externally.
  • Validate Certificates of Analysis for products against specifications.
  • Identify resolutions for quarantined products and establish import limits.
  • Manage permits required by regulations and monitor changes.
  • Contribute to emergency response and hazardous goods plans.
  • Handle product nominations and notifications, understanding regulatory impacts.
  • Resolve customer/supplier inquiries effectively and communicate risks to management.
  • Develop product and industry expertise for prompt and accurate responses.
  • Stay updated on regulations to provide accurate information to customers and suppliers.
  • Train internal teams on quality and regulatory processes.
  • Document procedures for consistent task execution and easy substitution.
  • Support other departments to provide excellent customer service and maintain relationships.
  • Assist in implementing health and safety standards.
  • Support Manager in projects to ensure operational compliance and meet objectives.
  • Assume responsibilities in absence of Manager for Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Provide internal support for assigned tasks to meet company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • DEC or AEC in quality management, regulatory affairs, chemistry, environmental science, or engineering.
  • 1-2 years' experience in quality sector or laboratory of chemical products company.
  • Completed internal and external audits.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability in dynamic environments and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in French, English, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP, SharePoint.

And other duties as assigned by management.

The role requires independence, proactive learning, analysis, judgment, and proposing solutions. Adherence to company policies and consulting with superiors when needed for impactful situations is essential.
