Position Overview


A Line Cook level 1 with the Frontier BBQ and Smokehouse is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards, including basic sauces, vegetables and salads and will assist the team of Cooks with preparation.

The Line Cook 1 will calculate necessary food quantities daily in conjunction with reservations, along with preparation of food as outlined by the Sous Chef.

This Associate will adhere to professional standards of temperature and food safety control while also maintaining their work space, including counter tops, utensils, and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with company policy and Health and Safety standards.

The Line Cook Level 1 will demonstrate leadership qualities and be responsible for supporting the Team and setting an example for other Associates.


Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Line Cook position for a fast paced/high volume restaurant
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a Lead Line Cook position is an asset
  • Experience working in a similar buffetstyle restaurant is an asset

Skills

  • Food Handling Certificate is required
  • Ability to work well within a Team, while also demonstrating leadership qualities
  • Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of foodpreparation and cooking
  • Excellent communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 14 kilograms

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Required to provide a certificate proving completion of the Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers (ecourse provided by the Ministry of Labour)
