Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, the Human Resource Assistant will provide support for recruitment and gain experience in day-to-day HR/Health and Safety activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with full cycle recruitment, including:

Advertising of position vacancies.Resume screening.Completion of telephone interviews.Completion of approvals to hire.Conduct reference checks, as requested.Offer letter completion.Administer employee orientations.First point of contact for all HR-related questions and concerns. Provide support with the review and update of all HR documents, policies, and procedures.Assist with implementing skill matrixes for all internal departments.Canada Alberta Job Grant applications.Provide administrative support for Argus' internal Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP).Social Committee support.Day-to-day HR activities.

General Health and Safety Support

Submission of all work-related incidents to WCB.Participation in monthly JHSC meetings (3) and administration of meeting minutes.Present updates in monthly Toolbox meetings to all staff.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

HR Degree or Diploma at a post-secondary institution is an asset.High School Diploma or equivalent.Competent in using computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google.Organized and detail-oriented.Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment within a manufacturing organization.Extended sitting & computer use.Walking the shop floor.
