VISITOR SERVICES ASSISTANT:
The Capital Stewardship Branch is looking for a Visitor Services Assistant for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as a RÉ-03 ($50,375 to $63,754 per annum - Salary under review).

Reporting to the Supervisor, Information Services, the Assistant supports the information services and logistics for Gatineau Park visitor services.
This involves offering front-line client service, participating in student and/or seasonal staff hiring and training, handling sales transactions and overseeing the boutique and uniform programs at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre.
The individual assists with the development and implementation of events and special activities in Gatineau Park, like the Fall Rhapsody.
The Visitor Services Assistant also participates in reviewing and updating visitor information tools and processes. The individual works in close collaboration with the other program officers and Park managers.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Diploma from a recognized college in Recreation, Tourism, Event Planning, Communications or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in the following areas:
- Client services delivery;
- Event coordination and implementation;
- Hiring and/or training staff.
KNOWLEDGE
- Of the Outaouais tourism industry in the National Capital Region;
- Of the role, programs and services of Gatineau Park;
- Of principles and procedures for operating a cash register and inventory systems.
ABILITIES
- To efficiently manage information (incoming and outgoing);
- To effectively manage difficult situations;
- To assess programs, facility and operational efficiency and offer suggestions for changes or improvements;
- To work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision.
