Position Summary

The Procurement Officer serves as the authorized agent for the College, overseeing competitive sourcing activities, needs analysis, vendor identification, and more under the guidance of the Associate Director of Procurement. This role demands professionalism, a proactive approach, and adherence to regulations and College policies throughout the procurement process.

The Procurement Officer ensures fair procurement competitions, administers purchasing policies, and delivers services with a customer-oriented focus while upholding compliance standards and ethical practices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-year diploma in Purchasing/Supply Management or equivalent
  • Professional Designation in Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) preferred
  • 1 year experience in using ERP purchasing modules
  • 5 years procurement experience in the public sector

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) documents
  • Experience managing competitive processes for projects
  • Ability to interpret trade agreements and directives
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in contract management and data analytics
  • Proficiency in eProcurement systems and MS Office

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

Ability to work remotely within Ontario with reliable internet access or choose a hybrid campus setup.

Salary & Terms

  • Support Group: Pay Band I
  • Hours per week: 37.5
  • Start Rate: $38.01/hour
