The Language Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Manager, Administration & Language Services in the efficient running of the language services function.

This role recruits language service independent service providers and arranges required training, oversees the booking of appointments, helps in resolving issues escalated by staff and/or clients, assists with the training of new staff and ensures invoices are processed monthly.

This role also provides back-up coverage to the Manager, Language Services Assistants and reception area as needed.

Duties:

  • Assists the Manager, Administration & Language Services in the efficient running of the Language Services social enterprise
  • Recruits interpretation and translation independent service providers and arranges required training and testing (provide training workshops for interpreters and administer CILISAT Test)
  • Must take Community Interpreter Training and the CILISAT Test
  • Researches training options for interpreters, targeting clients with unique needs such as medical interpretation
  • Oversees the booking of Language Services appointments (contact, communicate and navigate interpreters availability and book appointment accordingly)
  • Trains Language Services Assistants in enterprise processes and policies, as assigned by the manager
  • Provides input to manager on performance of Language Services Assistants
  • Assists manager in social enterprise business development & marketing
  • Provides input into budgeting requirements
  • Provides input and assistance with annual reporting
  • Creates invoices and invoice reports for Finance
  • Follows up on outstanding invoices
  • Resolves escalated questions/problems from Language Services Assistants and clients
  • Manages, troubleshoots and ensures the efficient use of databases

Qualifications:

  • Community College (Business or related area of study).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in working with clients and general public in a busy front office environment and providing administrative and clerical support to a business or nonprofit organization
  • Standard level of proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal formats, and when interacting with both individuals and groups
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, CCLC staff, school staff and other partners, and establish cooperative relationships across various stakeholders
  • Ability to read and authenticate client documents
  • Ability to prepare standard reports, forms, and program statistics
  • Ability to provide trauma and violence informed care
  • An appropriate level of proficiency in the principles and practices of community services, housing services and related legislation
  • Ability to handle conflicting priorities in a disrupted and in a deadlineoriented environments
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds and commitment to inclusion
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Police Check

Job Types:

From $26.41 per hour
