Responsibilities


Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, the laborer plays a crucial role in assisting the teams and contributing to the smooth running and safety of mining operations.

Among their responsibilities, they will be required to perform various tasks, such as:

  • Assisting drillers and blasters in carrying out their duties.
  • Managing the water pumping stations at the mine.
  • Helping to set up barricades and enclosures.
  • Conducting equipment inspections before and after their shift.
  • Performing tasks in accordance with current safety standards (road safety and healthsafety).
  • Carrying out any other tasks requested by their supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 5 high school diploma.
  • Possess 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Appreciate outdoor work.
  • Hold a valid driver's license, with a Class 1 license being an additional advantage.
  • Have the ability to lift loads up to 20 kg.
  • Hold an explosive permit.

Assets

  • Able to communicate orally and written in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French (trilingual will be considered an asset).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
