Payroll Administrator & HR Assistant (Permanent, 25 hours/week) - Richmond, BC
The position will perform a variety of payroll functions and will work closely with other team
members for month and year-end payroll procedures. Additionally the position assists with
employee benefit administration and provides key clerical support to the Human Resource
Department.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Prepare and process full cycle biweekly payroll information to ensure 300+ staff are
- paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Enter, maintain, verify and update employee payroll data including direct deposit
- information, personal information and deductions.
  • Prepare a variety of payroll related reports and reconcile yearend payroll including
- taxable benefits, issuing of T4s and other statutory requirements.
  • Respond to payroll related queries in a timely manner.
  • Process new hires and terminations.
  • Assist with analysis, updating and maintaining files for Human Resources; including
- benefits and payroll as directed.
  • Maintain HRIS database for all staff.

YOUR CAPABILITIES:

  • Certificate or Diploma with a concentration in Payroll/Accounting preferred and
two years of experience in in managing end-to-end payroll cycles in a complex
environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong understanding of Canadian HR & Payrollrelated provincial employment
standards with knowledge of unionized environment required.

  • Proficient with computers and related technology, including computerized payroll
systems.

  • Strong communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an
organization.
