The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the day to day activities of security operations on a shift basis, while establishing and contributing to a safe work environment for all team members. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation on a shift basis
  • Responding to, resolving and escalating security issues as required
  • Assisting in the implementation of security strategic plans as directed
  • Monitoring, documenting and preparing statements/reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities
  • Reviewing reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities and other reports as requested
  • Reviewing inspection reports and taking appropriate action; escalating as required
  • Conducting training for security operations; recommending training opportunities and efficiencies
  • Providing input for team member performance objectives and evaluations
  • Providing outstanding customer service satisfactions to all guests
  • Preparing and submitting monthly Staff Resource Planning Proposals for special events and implementing them as directed
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed
  • Cross-departmental training and operational support as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Security Officer experience required
  • Previous security management or supervisory experience an asset but not required
  • Must be willing to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 an asset
  • A willingness to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and graveyards.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • A passion for providing outstanding service to our internal and external guests
  • Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
  • Can understand, speak and write English; fluency in other languages an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Serving It Right, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
  • The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
