The Road Safety Specialist (II) will be charged with supporting and implementing program, process and procedures in all aspects of Road safety.


  • Provide support to the Road Safety program by maintaining a visible presence to the field;
  • Ensure that all requirements of the Road Safety Program, IMS_GP06 Road Safety, GT-PRTRN003 Road Transportation and myIMS Risk Mastering Road Safety and are implemented and controlled;
  • Maintain an organization, infrastructure and necessary resources, ensuring that an adequate Road Safety organization is set up;
  • Coordinate the team of Road Safety Master Drivers and Internal trainers of NAM Cluster, allocated in AL Branches and with regional coverage;
  • Responsible for the implementation of Road Safety training for Master Drivers and Internal trainers;
  • Ensure, together with operational leaders, that 100% of drivers are trained and qualified as per Road Safety curriculum;
  • Plan, review and propose required amendments to Road Safety driver handbook or manual;
  • Ensure In-Cabin assessment are conducted by Master drivers and Internal trainers;
  • Verify compliance with established procedures through observation of behavior in announced and unannounced visits;
  • Promote and participate in Road Safety campaigns;
  • Participate in performance quarterly reviews with carriers;
  • Participate in audits in transport operations and carriers to verify evidence and outline corrective actions;
  • Contribute and support the development of road safety projects.

Competencies and Profile REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS**:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, science, or other related field.
  • 3+ years experience in transportation safety initiatives, fleet management and/or road safety.
  • Certifications and specialized training in the area of road safety.
  • Professional safety certification (OHST, CHST, CSP) an asset.
  • Must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30%.
  • Must be licensed and eligible to operate a motor vehicle.
