Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daytoday accounting operations of the businesses
  • Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives in automated financial and management information systems. This is a key shortterm priority.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that activities are in accordance with established legal and regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures
  • Be responsible for the annual & quarterly budgeting/forecasting cycles; ensure all stakeholders have strong visibility into plans and expectations
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of new financial systems
  • Provide active management and reporting of cash flows, expenses, cost control, and capital expenditures
  • In collaboration with the CEO, establish a set of key financial and operating metrics and report them to stakeholders
  • Work with the CEO and the Board on identifying and negotiating new sources of finance
  • Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making
  • Work with the CRO and CEO on product pricing, costing and margins
  • Work with Apera AI's counsel on legal matters such as options, stock issuance, agreements, and contracts
Your qualifications

  • Designated CPA with 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning experience.
  • Technology savvy with advanced knowledge of Excel and experience of ERP systems, their implementation and management.
  • Ability to understand customer contracts and related revenue recognition
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in raising capital is a bonus.
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial records, taxation, employment records. Similar knowledge of the US system(s) is a bonus.
