En tant qu'affilié de la Fédération Métisse du Manitoba, le Louis Riel Institute (LRI) est chargé d'offrir aux Métis de la rivière Rouge du Manitoba des programmes, des ressources et des services liés à l'éducation et à la culture .

Le Louis Riel Institute cherche à pourvoir quatre postes à temps plein d'interprète historique à la Maison-Riel, pour une durée déterminée, à Winnipeg, au Manitoba.

Interprète historique à la Maison-Riel

Relevant du coordonnateur ou de la coordonnatrice de la Maison-Riel, l'interprète historique offre des expériences et des programmes axés sur les Métis de la rivière Rouge à des groupes, des visiteurs sur place et dans les médias sociaux. L'interprète sera appelé(e) à travailler en soirée et durant le weekend.

Fonctions et compétences :

  • Offrir une gamme de programmes éducatifs à des enfants, des adolescents et des familles;
  • Animer des visites guidées de la Maison-Riel à l'intention de groupes scolaires, de touristes et du grand public,
  • Prêter main-forte aux tâches d'entretien et de maintenance de la maison, des objets, des vêtements, du jardin et du terrain.
  • Participer à la préparation et au bon déroulement d'événements spéciaux et activités de tiers.
  • Travailler avec les interprètes internes de la Maison-Riel et les encadrer;
  • Collaborer avec les employés de Parcs Canada.

Aptitudes et qualités requises :

  • Aptitude ou expérience à travailler avec des enfants, des adolescents et le public en général.
  • S'intéresser à l'histoire du Manitoba et des Métis (formation complémentaire offerte).
  • Tout intérêt pour l'artisanat, la langue michif, le jardinage, les plantes indigènes et autres et la musique traditionnelle (guitare, violon) serait un excellent atout.
  • Une tolérance à la chaleur causée par le port de vêtements historiques est également un atout.

Salaire de départ : 16,30 $ à 17,30 $, en fonction des études universitaires
Période d'emploi : de mai à septembre
Date limite : tant que le poste ne sera pas pourvu
