RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide business leaders and employees with timely, sensitive and pragmatic advice which contributes to organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and the resolution of workplace issues.
  • Contribute to the efforts of the Management Team to develop talent and plan for future successions.
  • Coach and support managers with performance management (objective setting, performance feedback, development planning).
  • Act as a champion to support change initiatives in the organization, as well as lead the deployment of any business unit or corporate related HR initiatives.
  • Implement and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Support the operation of compensation processes (annual pay reviews, incentive plan).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A wellrounded HR professional with at least 5 years' generalist experience.
  • Successful completion of a postsecondary program in a HR related field. Preference to individuals who are working towards or have completed their HR professional designation.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships, both within and external to the organization.
  • Crossborder experience (Canada/US) an asset.
  • Experience with Controlled Goods Program (CGP) or ITAR considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, and tact.
  • Proven and exemplary organizational, leadership and communication skills and a professional and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Have a solid grasp of legislation and regulations that have a bearing on employment matters.
  • Experience using an HCM system; experience with Oracle Fusion considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong decisionmaking capability.
  • Industry experience and/or experience working in a startup would be considered a strong asset.
