The Position:

HR & Payroll Administrator

- **The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator is responsible for payroll administration and assists in the development of Human Resources programs and policies/procedures at the Sarnia site, including, but not limited to recruiting, salary administration/compensation, benefits/pension administration, performance management, labour relations, collective agreement administration, industrial relations, and training administration. The incumbent provides Human Resources expertise to support the achievement of site and business goals.

The incumbent will advise employees in Human Resources matters while ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.


What you will do:

  • Counsels site employees about Human Resources matters.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures, and maintains reviews and recommends changes, as necessary.
  • Participates in strategy development and the strategic planning process for the site.
  • Assists in conducting recruiting efforts for site personnel (exempt, nonexempt, hourly).
  • New employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Manages Coop recruitment with local College and Universities.
  • Assists in the administration of compensation and performance management programs.
  • Responsible for all payroll duties
  • Maintains HRIS and personnel records.
  • Maintains Time & Attendance System.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources and Payroll experience, preferably in a unionrepresented manufacturing environment.
  • Post-Secondary education related to Human Resources.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred.
  • Knowledge in all areas of Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources policies/procedures and HRIS/Payroll systems.
