The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department by assisting with various administrative tasks, supporting the lifecycle of recruitment, and scheduling, and maintaining the HRIS.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Prepare internal and external postings for staff recruitment.
  • Schedule and organize interviews.
  • Support new hires in the orientation process; ensuring all documentation is completed.
  • Coordinate internal and external training activities as required, including travel arrangements when required.
  • Track and coordinate with staff when they become eligible to enroll in pension and benefit program.
  • Acts as a liaison between the agency and the contracted building maintenance staff person to ensure the upkeep of the physical plant.
  • Arranges for, and follows up on, building maintenance tasks.
  • Oversees all renovations coordinating with landlord and external contractors.
  • Schedule staff for replacement of shortnotice absences, scheduled absences (i.e. vacation time, sick) and any schedule adjustments according to policies and procedures.
  • Process and record time requests in BambooHR and Outlook.
  • Active member on the Joint Health and Safety Committee for the site.
  • Inputs all data relating to Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources and 12 years of experience working in the field.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional designation (or working towards)
  • Working knowledge of employment related legislation, such as Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code.
  • A valid driver's license, and use of a vehicle, which will be used in conducting agency business, would be considered an

Hours of Work:28 hours per week.
