Located at the urban core of the beautiful North Shore with convenient access to major regional and global centres, Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC) continues to expand and develop a District Energy System that currently services over 100 buildings.

Through the City of North Vancouver, LEC has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Site Supervisor – District Energy Civil Construction.

This position will primarily provide onsite supervision of the construction of LEC's District energy network including network extensions and building connections.

Projects will typically run for 2 – 10 weeks with project budgets under $1M.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for site supervisory work, coordinating, directing, and participating in the work of contracted crews engaged in district energy civil construction and coordinating external contractors and agencies.

You will also conduct operations and maintenance tasks from time to time as required, including performing general on site construction tasks rather than allocate such work to a contractor, as on occasion you may be LEC's only direct representative on site.

You will assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budget monitoring, work schedules and long-range planning. You will also prepare and maintain records/reports, and order materials/equipment. In addition, you will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.

You will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by a diploma or trades qualification in a field related to utilities construction and possess considerable related knowledge and experience, in a lead-hand or preferably a supervisory capacity.

A thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and materials, tools and equipment used in utilities construction, maintenance and operations is required.

Any direct experience with district energy would be considered an asset.

You have excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to work in a team setting, and have proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Practical working knowledge of procurement practices and asset management principals in government organizations and/or a Level 2 or higher certification within the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) or equivalent operational qualifications, would be advantages.

A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License is required.

Through the City of North Vancouver, Lonsdale Energy offers an attractive remuneration package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule and a 35-hour work week.

The salary range is $86,856.00 to $102,156.00 annually (2024 rates).
