The Role

As an Associate in Corporate Banking, Loan Syndications & Agency at CWB, you will report to the Managing Director & Head, playing a vital role in the credit structuring, execution, and growth of our Corporate Banking portfolio. This position offers an excellent opportunity to excel in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while significantly contributing to our organization's success.

Key Responsibilities

Support the structuring and promotion of new transaction opportunities alongside Associate Directors, Directors, and Corporate Banking under the guidance of the Managing Director & Head – Corporate Banking, Loan Syndications & Agency. Conduct thorough credit analysis and deal structuring in accordance with CWB's standards, while managing existing lending portfolios with Associate Directors and Directors. Collaborate with clients, financial advisors, private equity sponsors, and banking partners for comprehensive transaction due diligence. Prepare concise credit presentations that recommend financing solutions within the Bank's risk parameters. Liaise with CWB Credit Risk Management for credit approvals and syndicated transaction commitments within deadlines. Ensure portfolio compliance with Bank policies and monitor credit quality, escalating issues as necessary. Review loan documentation to ensure alignment with CWB's credit authorization. Collaborate with credit support partners for efficient loan administration. Act as a primary credit resource, assisting the Managing Director & Head – Corporate Banking, Loan Syndications & Agency in maintaining high credit quality and developing the competencies of junior team members.

Ideal Candidate

A client-focused professional with a proven ability to drive results. They will work closely with Associate Directors and Directors in Corporate Banking to develop and expand a portfolio of top-tier, complex senior debt lending relationships, primarily involving syndicated lending transactions. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, demonstrating a history of effectively negotiating, underwriting, and structuring senior lending relationships across various industries.

Essential Qualifications

A university degree in business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field. Pursuit of a CBV or CFA designation is advantageous.

Relevant Experience

3+ years of experience in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, or Credit Risk Management.
