Hatfield is seeking a mid- to senior-career professional to join our team and help build our practice around Indigenous engagement, working with and on behalf of Indigenous nations and in supporting other clients in developing and maintaining positive relationships built on trust and mutual respect.


Hatfield's Human Environment Group is a tight-knit team of social scientists with a broad range of experience and interests in Indigenous cultures, interests and rights, resource use planning, and socio-economics.

We support the incorporation of Indigenous perspectives and worldviews with western science-based practices, projects, and environmental management.

Work independently and with teams of Social and Environmental Specialists on a variety of projects, across multiple sectors with a broad range of clients;
Contribute to the planning, organization, and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous engagement or consultation activities;
Build on your experience working with Indigenous communities to enhance and deliver a variety of Hatfield's social and environmental technical services;
Assist with research design, implementation, and analysis;
Contribute to networking and business development.
The successful candidate will have strong communication and technical skills and a passion for learning. Indigenous interests, relationship building, and engagement;
Land-use, natural resource and/or community planning;
Regulatory aspects of Indigenous consultation and engagement;
Master's degree or equivalent of lived or work experience in social science or related experience in the field of natural sciences;
A strong understanding of systemic issues faced by Indigenous communities, reconciliation, inclusion and equity, and Indigenous governance;
Experience in Indigenous engagement, working with Indigenous communities, and/or natural resource management;
networking, meeting and presentation facilitation);

Technical ability preparing and delivering research that includes data collection, compilation and analysis; Excellent skills in technical report writing and other forms of written documentation.

A self-starter that enjoys working on a variety of tasks and projects;
Collaborative and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and teamwork;
Positive, kind, and open to different project experiences;
Open to potential travel and occasional work in remote communities and locations as required.
